Visitor Information for the Las Vegas Heat Wave Tournament
The Las Vegas Heat Wave Taekwondo Tournament is a regional martial arts tournament for members of the Moo Do Taekwondo Association (MDTKD). The event is open to the public, and we welcome spectators to attend and learn more about taekwondo and martial arts!
Each year hundreds of spectators attend the event to watch martial artists compete in a variety of divisions, including poomsae, point sparring, weapons, and more. Competitors range from 5-year-old Tiny Tigers attending their first tournament to taekwondo masters who have been competing for decades.
The event is sanctioned by the Moo Do Taekwondo Association, and competitors in the Heat Wave Tournament can earn points to qualify to MDTKD’s National Champion title. MDTKD schools provides gup (color belt) rank through the Moo Duk Kwan as well as Dan (Black belt ) rank through the Moo Duk Kwan and Kukkiwon.
If you’re planning to attend the event as a spectator, please register for spectator access. Profits from tournament fees and spectator fees support our nonprofit organization that provides financial support to kids who couldn’t otherwise afford martial arts.
Affordable accommodations near the event are available for out-of-town competitors at Santa Fe casino.
